WWOW: Forgiveness Makes Us Peaceful

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and our reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the highest. For He is kind unto the thankful and to the evil. Be therefore merciful, and your father also is merciful. Judge not, and you shall not be judged. condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you shall be forgiven. – Luke 6:35-37

Forgiveness Makes Us Peaceful
Sean Sparkman

ForgivenessNot many of us would claim to want turmoil or stress in our lives, yet daily we struggle to fight it. We want situations to be different, people to change, dreams to come true. We complicate our wants by trying to manipulate and control, as directed by our pride, and conflict is instantly the result. Is there really another way to live?

Yes. Jesus has shared that way with us through the Bible. To live peacefully every day takes a willingness to look past the illusion your pride has created. Your out of control ego and prides only intention is the chaos and turmoil you’re experiencing. Pride is not your friend, the holy spirit is. God did not give us the inflated ego for guidance. God’s gift was the holy spirit. Let’s not forget, the holy spirit is just as available as our pride and just as close. The decision is all that’s different.

Pray Today: Thank you, God for the gift of your peace. May it always live in my heart no matter what conflict is going on around me. Remind me that the best way to show you my love is to show my love to the people around me. Amen.
